Shanghai, China, May 31, 2022 – Beyond Meat, Inc. (NASDAQ: BYND), a leading plant-based meat company, today announced the launch of its first-ever plant-based meat sauce collection created specifically for the Chinese market under the Beyond Meat™ brand.
Launching with two flavors, Classic Bolognese and Savory Black Pepper, each sauce uses savory plant-based Beyond Pork™, which is designed to deliver the great taste, juiciness, and versatility similar to animal-based ground pork while being made from simple, plant-based ingredients.
Beyond Meat's Classic Bolognese Plant-Based Sauce is versatile and designed to add refreshing, plant-based goodness to an array of mealtime favorites, such as pasta, soups, pizzas, casseroles, seafood stews, and much more. In addition, the Classic Bolognese Plant-Based Sauce has 4.8g protein per serving (100g).
Beyond Meat's Savory Black Pepper Plant-Based Sauce can be used as a rich and multi-purpose meal starter, a creamy gravy or as an ideal condiment for stir-frying rice, noodles, and vegetables. With about 103 kcal per 100g, each serving of the sauce has the same amount of calories equivalent to an apple1.
Jeremy Yeo, Beyond Meat’s Acting General Manager in China, said: “Launching Beyond Meat’s first-ever plant-based meat sauce product under our brand in China reflects our commitment to the market, where we have witnessed significant potential and opportunities in the plant-based protein category, as well as the rising trend2 of more local consumers incorporating plant-based food into their diet. The sauce launch will further diversify our portfolio and offerings in China, allowing us to meet consumers’ demand for tasty and convenient ready-to-eat mealtime solution.”
The debut of Beyond Meat’s plant-based meat sauces supports the brand's mission to make delicious, nutritious and sustainable plant-based options widely accessible and convenient to prepare.
Beyond Meat products are also available at retailers such as City Shop and Sam's Club and on China's three major e-commerce platforms - JD.com Tmall, and Pinduoduo.
